The third part of Polish Radio and Television Entertainment Orchestra in Katowice adventures is yet another opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of beautiful melodies and remarkably colorful arrangements. This time you fill find in the menu charming bossa nova pieces, adaptations of folk themes and sand storms.

After two vinyl releases in the 1970s and two archival collections offered by GAD Records in last years, the time has come to further explore the vast archives of the Polish Radio and Television Entertainment Orchestra in Katowice directed by Jerzy Milan. “Znak wodnika” is an album collated from records made between 1976 and 1978 – the period which heralded the first major changes in the group sound. There you could hear first glimpses of synthesizers and some composers’ brave experiments with disco music. Moreover, the orchestra’s director, together with its bassist, Andrzej Minkacz, would create the most beautiful bossa nova pieces in the world. Like in the previous releases, the record features expressive, catchy grooves, delicate ballads and some interesting arrangement experiments. In “Samum” by Piotr Sikora, you could literally feel a scorching, desert wind.

The material has been remastered from original tapes kept at the archives of Polskie Radio Katowice.

Trzecia część dokumentacji poczynań Orkiestry Rozrywkowej PRiTV w Katowicach pod dyrekcją Jerzego Miliana to jeszcze jedna okazja, by zanurzyć się w świat pięknych melodii i niezwykle kolorowych aranżacji. Tym razem w menu urocze bossa novy, adaptacje ludowych tematów i piaskowe burze.

Po dwóch winylach wydanych w latach 70. i dwóch archiwalnych zbiorach przygotowanych przez GAD Records czas na dalszą eksplorację obszernego archiwum Orkiestry Rozrywkowej PRiTV pod dyrekcją Jerzego Miliana. „Znak wodnika” to album zestawiony z nagrań zrealizowanych w latach 1976-78, zwiastujący pierwsze poważniejsze zmiany w brzmieniu zespołu: pojawiają się pierwsze syntezatory, część kompozytorów odważnie eksperymentuje ze stylistyką disco, a dyrektor Orkiestry i jej basista, Andrzej Minkacz, tworzą najpiękniejsze bossa novy świata. Podobnie jak w wypadku poprzednich części na płycie znalazły się zarówno ekspresyjne tematy zaopatrzone w nośny groove, i delikatne ballady, i utwory będące ciekawymi eksperymentami aranżacyjnymi (debiutujący w tej serii Zygmunt Szram). Jest też gorący, pustynny wiatr w utworze Piotra Sikory „Samum”!
